Formal portrait of Chandaki Daiyo the “Lioness of Khandala”. Chandaki’s elaborate mask/headdress is worn at royal ceremonies and can be viewed as a sort of inverted version her clan’s symbol - the Golden Sphinx - which has a woman’s head and the body of a lioness.
